What I Offer
01
End-to-end production frameworks covering schedule architecture, milestone planning, capacity forecasting, and budget tracking. I structure shows for clarity and delivery control from day one.
02
Evaluating and onboarding the right vendors, establishing shot and asset tracking systems, SOP governance, reporting standards, and workflow optimisation across single-site and multi-site productions.
03
Structured capability development for production teams — drawing on a proprietary production methodology built across 25 years and 100+ shows, designed to build teams that handle complexity independently.
04
Actively working at the intersection of AI and VFX production — exploring how generative tools and intelligent automation can drive the pipeline towards higher efficiency.
Selected Productions
A selection of productions I have contributed to across global studios — in roles spanning Show Production Manager, Central Production Manager, and Assistant Head of Production.
Show Production Manager — Led delivery of one of the most ambitious streaming series of its time. ~3,900 VFX shots. Oversaw the Sky Bridge destruction sequence. Sustained delivery through COVID-19 remote transition. Won the 2022 VES Award for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Episode.
Show Production Manager — Planned and executed delivery for a simulation-intensive feature centred on large-scale ocean environment creation. Won VES Award for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature (2024).
Production — Contributed to delivery of the Primetime Emmy Award-winning series. One of the most complex creature and environment productions of the streaming era.
Production — Part of the global delivery team for this Emmy-nominated, VES-recognised cyberpunk series requiring extensive futuristic environment and digital doubles work.
Central Production Manager — Central planning role for the studio's milestone project. Structured the show across three sites with macro milestones and built-in contingencies for compressed delivery.
Episode In Charge — Led end-to-end episodic pipelines from storyboard to delivery. Pioneered hair and grass simulation workflows. Pivotal role on Daytime Emmy-winning Jakers!, Pet Aliens, and Monster Buster Club.
The Journey
Chapter One
1999 — 2008 · 9 Years
Learning the language from the inside
It began in Chennai in 1999 — building photorealistic characters from scratch, learning how frames are made at the level of vertices and light. These early years at landmark Indian animation studios were not just technical training. They were the foundation of a craft intuition that no amount of production management theory can replicate. Understanding what artists do, how long it takes, and what it costs them — this became the bedrock of everything that followed.
Chapter Two
2008 — 2013 · 5 Years
Still making — but now responsible for others making
The shift from doing to leading is one of the hardest transitions in any creative industry. Most artists resist it. Nishant embraced it — recognising that his ability to see the whole and communicate across disciplines was as valuable as any technical skill. Leading a team of 60 animators on a feature film, then deliberately bridging into VFX pipelines, this chapter forged the systems thinker that would emerge fully in the years ahead.
Chapter Three
2013 — 2024 · 11 Years
Running shows, not just contributing to them
Eleven years. Four major global studios. Shows that became industry benchmarks. This is where the full scope of Nishant's capabilities came into their own — building divisions from nothing, managing hundreds of artists across multiple continents, holding the line on delivery through a global pandemic. The Producer years are not a chapter of incremental growth. They are a decade of compounding mastery at the highest levels of the industry.
Chapter Four
2024 — Present
25 years of pattern recognition, available on demand
Every chapter built toward this one. The Artist's understanding of craft. The Supervisor's ability to lead through complexity. The Producer's command of systems, risk, and delivery at scale. As a consultant, Nishant brings the full weight of this journey to bear on the specific challenges studios face today — not as theory, but as hard-won operational intelligence from inside some of the most demanding productions ever made.
